FAQ

Where do you ship orders to?

We fulfill orders nationwide to all 50 states.  We ship using UPS.  You can select your desired carrier at checkout.  Please be advised that the date you receive at checkout is the date we ship out from our facility.

We make every effort to ensure your treats are packaged and delivered safely, and since shipments across the US are at its highest rate, once it leaves our hands, it is the carrier’s responsibility to get your package to its final destination.  

For certain San Francisco Bay Area, California cities, we offer delivery (for an additional delivery fee) as well as pickup option at no additional cost.  For orders requesting delivery, we will use the provided phone number to send you updates on your order and when it will be delivered.  Please be sure to provide a valid phone number.

Why does the checkout page not accept my address?

It could be that your billing/shipping address is not in our service area.

It could also mean you are in our service area, but our system needs to learn about your specific zip. If so, please contact us to let us know.

What forms of payment is accepted?

PayPal and Credit Cards are accepted. The transaction will appear on your statement as: “PAYPAL *MINIZEE” or “PAYPAL *THECHOCOLATEDOZEN”

Can I order for same-day pickup or delivery?

Same day order fulfillment is not available as everything is made fresh once the order is received. We do not have a storefront, but on occasion we will have things available same day but without the indication from our team.  Please send us an email should for inquiries.

How long can the products keep fresh for?

Approximately 2 weeks is best if kept in a cool covered area, especially ones with cream filling or ganache.  For orders being shipped, all cookies are heat sealed to keep cookies fresh.  For local orders, unless specified, orders that are picked up or delivered will not be heat sealed unless you’ve ordered one of our DIY Kits.

How will I know when I will receive my order?

Please allow the indicated  time that you receive on the checkout page to make your order, or the “Ship Out” date.. We make every effort to produce and complete your order as quickly as possible and if we can ship out sooner we will send you an email.  However during the holidays, we may not be able to ship sooner than indicated since it’s our busiest times of the year.  For decorated sugar cookies it may take a longer depending on how many is ordered and other orders we are working on.  Please send us an email for questions regarding your order.

If you selected “Pick Up”, we will contact you once your order is completed and provide you a location to meet.  We do not have a storefront to pick up your order.

If you selected “Delivery” as your shipping method, we will text you the morning of the deliery date and give you an ETA of when we plan to deliver.

If you selected your order to be mailed, we will ship to close to or on the date specified.  Once we’ve completed your order you will recieve an order confirmation with a UPS tracking number.  Be sure the allow emails from us so that they don’t go to junk mail. 

If I chose Pick Up as my shipping option, where do I pick up orders?

Since we don’t have a physical storefront, we will contact you by text to let you a location to meet on the day you specify.  The meeting place will be in the San Ramon area.  No half way pickups are accepted, otherwise a delivery charge will be requested.

Do you have any gluten-free or dairy free products?

Yes. Selected products have gluten-free or dairy free variations for purchased. We understand there is a demand for these products and we are looking into crafting more.

If you are allergic to egg, please let us know so that we can make your treats with a egg replacement.

NOTICE: Gluten free and dairy free items are NOT made in a gluten free or dairy free free enviornment.

The Chocolate Dozen is pleased to offer a limited variety of gluten free and dairy free options on our shop.  We are not a gluten free and dairy free bakeshop and cannot ensure that cross contamination will never occur. If you are a Celiac and/or highly sensitive please advise that we will do our best but cannot guarantee your order will not touch gluten or dairy somewhere in the process.

Are your cookies Nut Free?

The Chocolate Dozen is NOT a nut free and dairy free bakeshop and cannot ensure that cross contamination will never occur. If you are highly sensitive to nuts, please advise that we will do our best but cannot guarantee your order will not touch nuts somewhere in the process. 

How do I place a large or custom order?

We require AT LEAST 4 WEEKS advance booking from your event date for any custom sugar cookie order.  For any order request received after the 4 week mark is subject to a rush fee if our schedule can accommodate it.  Use our Contact Page or our Custom Cookie Orders page to send us details of your event and we will send you a custom order page to order.  You can also send us an email or leave us a voicemail.  Our phone number is (925) 364-5801 and email is [email protected].
